Abstract
In the present experiment, sequencing of three species of mantodea belonging to the family Mantidae is conducted in iBOL (International Barcode of Life) University of Guelph, Canada. In this study cytochrome oxidase subunit I (CO1) gene data set is represented on various of Mantodea viz Mantis religiosa Linne, Archimantis latistyla Serville, Sphodromantis lineola Burmeister, Sphodromantis viridis Forskal, Blepharosis mendica Fabricius, Hierodula patellifera Serville, Rivetina baetica Rambur, Empusa unicornis Saussure and Statilia maculate Thunberg, shipped to iBOL Canada, for molecular data analyses, but only three species blasted results were got. Earlier many species and their sibling species were misidentified on morphological examination. However, in the present study molecular characteristics (DNA-based) species assignments has made it possible to overcome these doubts.
