Abstract
Curculigo orchioides (Kali musli), of family Amaryllidaceae, is used to prepare ayurvedic formulations and have pharmacological actions as an immunostimulant, antioxidant, hepatoprotective, anticancer, aphrodisiac,and antidiabetic. Certain phytochemical constituents like phenolic, glycosides, flavonoids, saponins and aliphatic compounds have therapeutic potential derived from plant Curculigo orchioides. The review contains an overview of the specific biological, pharmacological, and medicinal properties of Curculigo orchioides and its phytoconstituents.
