Abstract
The distribution and community of diverse nematode groups (phytophagous or predatory) can be useful as biological indicators of soil quality or soil environment. This is due to the fact that nematodes play an important role in nutrient cycling and degradation specially nitrogen, which are one of the major ecological processes of soil ecosystem. Maturity indices and diversity of the nematode groups in the trophic levels are considered to be one of the key factors which are if studied in detail can give us lot of detailed information about their impact on soil health. So, in this review article some literatures about the same aforesaid topic was given a glance and is further discussed as early researchers have also tried to understand and elaborate the importance of soil dwelling or inhabiting nematodes and their impact on soil quality.
