Abstract

Radhanagari Wild Life Sanctuary earlier known as Dajipur Wild Life Sanctuary is famous for the Bison and covered with tropical evergreen forest. The populations residing in the vicinity of sanctuary are using various plants from the surrounding for treatment of various human and veterinary diseases and ailments. In the present investigation the villages in the vicinity of Sanctuary were visited for the collection of information about medicinal plants. The ethno-medicinal practitioners and the informers were interviewed during present study for collection of information. The plant specimens were collected and identified. 43 plant species belonging to 28 families used for the treatment of human and veterinary diseases and ailments were recorded during the present studies.
