Abstract
The excessive dietary intake of fruits, vegetables and balanced diet lead to higher potential health benefits. Strawberry is nutritious food having sugars, vitamins, minerals and some bioactive compounds like anthocyanins, flavonoids which are anti-disease compounds. Strawberry prevents free radical production, anti-inflammatory, anti-obesity, anti-diabetic and various types of cancer. This review focuses on nutritional and non-nutritional bioactive compounds of strawberry and the phytochemicals actions on cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and some pathological studies.
