Abstract

In this present study tomato seeds were treated with CFU of endophytic fungi and different concentrations of crude oligosaccharides, proteins and sphingolipids extracted from endophytic fungi for the evaluation of seed quality parameters. Seeds treated with CFU and (CO) crude oligosaccharide (1.0mg/ml) for 3h showed significant increase in 86.00% and 84.25% seed germination and 1202 and 1108 seedling vigor respectively compared to all other treatments and control.  Enhanced vegetative and reproductive parameters such as 71.52cm shoot length, 55.69g and 4.98g fresh and dry shoot weight from the plants raised from CFU treated seeds compared to control, which recorded 32.7cm shoot length, 29.00 and 2.96 fresh and dry shoot weight. Early flowering was also observed in treated plants than control. Under greenhouse conditions increased disease protection of 71.25% and 68.75 % was recorded from plants raised from CFU and CO treatments when compared to control, which showed 1.0% significant  increased in enzymes activity like phenyl ammonia lyase, Peroxidase, Polyphenol oxidase, Lipoxygenase was observed in susceptible cfu and  CO treated pathogen inoculated  seedlings compared to control.
