The major class of active natural product isolated are termed as “Cannabinoids”. These are the class of natural active pharmaceutical ingredients that typically have a C21 terpinophenolic skeleton. C. sativa’s different compounds explored for their different pharmacological activities to prove and validate its traditional uses. Many of these chemical constituents have been reported to have pharmacological activities viz. anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anticancer, neuro-protective and anti-microbial.
