Abstract
Piper nigrum of Piperaceae family was a frequently used pungent spices for flavoring food whose peppercorn particularly used in traditional medicine for digestive ailment. The black pepper was formulated as a tablet to treat the cholera and syphilis, tooth powder to treat tooth ache and maceration of the corn by chewing reduces the sore throat. The research analysis in the corn has showed the presence of various compounds and their bioactivity were analyzed with the characteristics such as antioxidant, anti-inflammation, anticancer, antilipidemic and antidiabetic etc., In this study the leaves of the Piper nigrum was collected in sterilized condition and extracted with the ethanolic solvent using conventional method. The bioactive compounds were detected using GCMS technique to process the extract for the analysis by various parameter for identifying its medicinal properties.
