Abstract
The adventitious shoot bud formation from leaf, stem and embryo explants of G. bosvallia on MS medium containing BAP, KN and 2,4-D (0.1 10 mg/l) was evaluated individually and in combination treatments. 2,4-D was the most effective in promoting shoot bud induction. The highest shoot regeneration potential was observed with embryo explant followed by leaf and stem. Essential oil profiles were analysed on in vivo grown plants. The fully grown plant contains 0.1 percent essential oil. The main components are : limonene and b-phellandrene / 1,8 cineole (30.49), b-caryophyllene (20), terpenolene (8.49), trans-a-bergamotene (4.02), sabinene (3.29) a-copaene or methyl eugenol (3.02), b-pinene (2.40), T-muerolene (1.71), terpinen-4-ol (1.42), a-humulene (1.07).
