Abstract

We report here the molecular confirmation of a RFLP marker closely linked to genes affecting hairiness in cotton. Among 10 DNA probes used, A1152 probe was hybridised with XbaI digested cotton genomic DNA at chromosome number 6 for the genes affecting hairiness in two hairy genotypes by radioactive method. In non-radioactive method, the same DNA probe was revealed RFLP in the above two genotypes along with a hairy okra leaf mutant.
