Abstract

Fusarium odum causes severe wilt disease in Pigeon Pea (Cajanus cajan L.) Mill. The present study reports selection of calli tolerant to culture filtrate of Fusarium odum. Cotyledon calli were selected for their tolerance of F. odum culture filtrate (FCF). The increase of culture filtrate concentration has shown progressive browning and reduction of fresh and dry weight of callus. Plantlets were regenerated from FCF selected calli on MS medium supplemented with 1.0mg/l BAP+0.1 mg/l IAA. The plantlets obtained from the FCF selected calli showed tolerance to culture filtrate of Fusarium.
