Abstract
The morphologically diverse flowers of the family Orchidaceae reflect adaptations to a wide range of pollinators. They have developed unique floral architecture to accomplish successful pollination. Around the world different orchid species are pollinated by different members of different families of bees, wasps, nectar-drinking flies, butterflies, sphinx and settling moths, hummingbirds, ants and African sunbirds. In this communication, orchids and their pollination system is reviewed.
