Abstract

Computational and experimental studies of the lasing characteristics of an IR optical parametric oscillator (OPO) based on a LiNbO3 nonlinear crystal have been performed. The developed extracavity ring OPO configuration with replaceable output mirrors allows pump frequency tuning in parametric generation up to 30% throughout the tuning range from 1.41 to 4.24 µm.
