Abstract
Management of inmates’ information in Nigeria has been a neglected area with the manual system still in place. Inmates’ records are maintained in a rudimentary way in the form of manual files and registers. This method of data management often results in human error, delay to retrieve information, etc. Hence there is need for a better system for managing inmates’ information in Nigeria. Thus, in this paper a computerized inmate information system was designed and implemented to manage inmate’s records in the prisons. The system was developed using ASP.NET for the web contents, C# for the logic and SQL was used to implement the database that stores and manages the inmate’s records. The results obtained provide a single management system which integrate all the information about an inmate in a single profile. It can easily be accessed and it enhances the overall efficiency of inmates’ information management in Nigerian prisons.
