Abstract

Mathematical formulation of Pine wilt disease (PWD) by considering indirect as well as direct transmission has been displayed. The rigorous analysis is based on threshold parameter named as the basic reproduction number R0. It has been shown that the disease will be eradicated if the threshold parameter is less than unity and the population approaches endemic level whenever the reproduction number exceeds unity. The sensitive parameters has been identified. The effective control strategies has also been suggested on the basis of this sensitivity analysis.

Keywords: Pine wilt disease, mathematical model, system of nonlinear differential equations
